The above book is disallowed for purchase for me. This is strange, as this book is not banned by our Government.
Any special reasons? Can FL help me with this? I really want this book!
The shopping cart tells me this book is not allowed for purchase from my country - which is Singapore.
I guess electronic versions have different laws that govern them. Now, I will start reading samples and reviews and I might just purchase it, since it is only available in the USA and Canada [:P]

Ps. Someone said to change the address on your billing and then you could buy it, but I don't know if it works or not. I don't think it'd be ethically right to do it either, but that's what I read on one of the threads recently.
The product page says only available for purchase in US and Canada.
This has nothing to do with the laws in Singapore. Also nothing to do with Faihtlife not wanting to sell it to you. It just means that Logos does not have the rights to sell it outside certain countries. The reason behind that could be that a different publisher owns the right for countries outside the US and Canada and Faithlife does not have a separate agreement with that publisher. Or the contract with the publisher is somehow limited.
It is typical of Catholic publications where the publication rights are owned by a national conference of bishops for the publication being available only within their territory ... in this case the United States and Canadian conferences of bishops ... The Vatican owns world wide rights for the Latin.
Nothing to do with Singapore government, nothing to do with Faithlife. When publishers pay for the rights to publish a title, one of the considerations they fork out for are territorial rights. The system is Byzantine rather than businesslike, so I stand to be corrected if I am speaking in ignorance or anachronistically. English language publishing rights are paid for in two lumps: USA or Britain plus the old British Empire countries (now the British Commonwealth), with Canada in a kind of floaty in/out category either way. If a US publisher thinks they can make enough profit with just USA rights, they'll just opt for sales in USA/Canada. Readers in the other zone have to wait for another publisher to take up the option.
Nothing to do with Singapore government, nothing to do with Faithlife.
Your theory may be accurate in some contexts but it does not apply to Catholic Church documents in which the copyrights are held by the Church or some subset thereof. I would expect there to be minor differences the English versions under different conferences of bishops - last I knew the Great Britain version lacked the glossary of the American version.
Good to know, I had this in my wish list, but now I've removed it. My wish list is too long anyway. I could imagine if the current pope knew this situation he would fix it before the sunrise.
Hi Vincent.. Did you by chance know Dr Tony See who passed away several years ago? I am his son-in-law. I have been to Singapore many times and my wife still has family there.. In fact my Profile Pic here is of my kids and I on our last trip to Singapore in 2015.
