Precept Markings

I don't understand why I can't print out my scripture WITH my precept markings and notes.

I want to be able to include them in my workbook. Now I must copy and paste into my Word Perfect, the make my own markings, and print. This really should be included. When we purchased - Precept push this program because you could mark-up your Bible with their symbols. I would not have purchased if I had know you could not print these symbols.

I do like the study features, but most of those are online for free.

But that still means marking the scripture twice. It would be nice to be able to print it directly.

It does not work as easy as copy/paste into Word Processing and marking.

In fact - I purchased Sentence Diagramming tool and had them remove it because it really is a back door method that does not work. I should be able to print directly. Or copy and paste with my markings. But thanks for trying.

This might be a good place to request some pre-marked-ups like the Rainbow Bibles ... I'm sure there are other similar works out there.

Pamela, I am with you on wanting markup print functionality. Actually, I may have a "solution" until (!!!) they make markups printable (which I would definitely like to see, and I agree the Sentenece Diagramming tool is pretty cumbersome and annoying for what we are aiming to do with markups).

The solution involves Print Screen (PrtScn) and Paint (a Windows app) and an application such as Word. And btw, thank Morris Proctor, whose training in Camp Logos 2 taught me this:

Mark up text in any Libronix resource
Press PrtScn on the keyboard
choose "Start/All Programs/Accessories/Paint"
Chooose Edit/paste in the paint program
Click the "Select" icon from the palette of tools on the left
Place the cursor at the beginning point of the exact image you want to select. Hold down the mouse button and drag the cursor across the screen so that the desired image is selected. Let go of the mouse button
Choose Edit/Copy
Go to another application like Word (which is what I did)
Choose Edit/Paste.

You will see the image, with markups. You can print this. Obviously it is a graphic, and not editable text. But at least you CAN print what you marked up already.

LOL, yeah, i remember making several mark ups during study for a sermon and I wanted to print the text, with markups, and use that for preaching. Found out that didn't work at all! Quite annoying (but I still profess undying love for Logos.)

I would like to plug Morris Proctor Seminars. I think you will find that there are many more benefits to Logos than what you can simply find online. It really is an amazing tool, and most people (me included) barely scratch the surface of what it can do. Morris has two "camps" and I have been to both I and II. about 3 years apart. They are worth going to a couple times, I just haven't. You can also purchase DVD's of the camps, too. He is very methodical and helpful in his tips, explanations, and mostly, helping you see "why" a particular "function/tool" (whatever) is helpful to know and use.

I use a PrintScreen alternative from Gadwin Systems (www.gadwin.com). Their printscreen utility can copy a current window, the entire screen, or a rectangular area defined with the cursor. Output can be sent to a number of destinations: Computer clipboard, printers (PDF printers are available), graphics file (PNG, GIF, JPEG, TIFF, etc.), or embedded into an e-mail.

There is both a free version, that I use, and a "Pro" version. Once installed, it simple replaces Windows own PrintScreen function.

I use Snag It by Tech Smith. You can get a 30 day free trial at http://www.techsmith.com/screen-capture.asp

Use the "scrolling window web page capture" in Snag It . Open Logos to the scrolling pages in Logos that you want to copy (I would first make the pane into a full screen or as wide as you would want it to print on your paper) use the capture in Snag It and hit the enter key when you have copied enough otherwise it will keep going to the end of the scroll. What you copied opens in the Snag It Editor and you can print it out from there. You can even mark it up more in the Snag It editor if you want to.

I use Snag It for so many things and really appreciate the programs capabilities. I have been using it for more than four years and I don't think there has been a week that has gone by that I haven't used it. Usually several times a day.

I'm still hoping that our Logos friends will realize that the ability to print or copy marked-up text is a feature many of us consider essential. These work-arounds are possible not at all what we expect of a program of this quality.
