I use the NASB 95 update for my preferred Bible, In the Text comparison screen is there a way to have the ESV the first bible shown. Currently in makes the NASB 95 update the first one.

If you are using F7, it should use whatever text you have as the current pane as the base text (first). If you are reading the ESV it should use the ESV as the first.
Does that work?
If you are using the Text Comparison tool, you can edit the texts it uses (and the order) by typing in the box at the top of the panel.
