BUG: Confusing E-Mail

Thought I would mention that I just received a confusing e-mail. It starts out:
"As you’ve likely heard, we launched Logos 7 last year—but we noticed you’re still working on an older version of Logos. ..."
Thing is, I upgraded to 7 when it came out.
I think something is broken in the filters used to send out the e-mail.

I think this has happened once before since the release of L7! I'm glad I'm not the one who ran that report! [:$]

Hi all,
I'm very sorry for the confusion. We accidentally included a group of people in this email who already have Logos 7. [:$]
We've stopped the send and are readjusting our list.

After I got the email, I looked at my copy of Logos and discovered that it says I have a "pre-Logos-7 library" and invites me to get a Logos 7 library which I have: 7.3.0.0062 at the Platinum level. so I am still confused

How did you acquire access to the L7 engine? By Logos Now? L7 base package? L7 feature set?

I too received this email and almost dismissed it. I ended up finding that there is a "Logos 7 Extended Feature" set available. I originally bought the Reformed package with the "full" feature set. To my understanding there was no "extended" feature set available. Im going to take a closer look at this set to see if it is worth purchasing.
Also, Logos is now giving out a "$5 on us" discount for those of us who mistakenly received this email!

Gerry, as Ben said, you did receive this in error. We're sorry about that. If you click the link in the email, you'll see a $5 promo code on the landing page for your troubles.
However, it's worth clarifying that while you have version 7 of the software application and feature set, you don't have a version 7 library.
We've historically let people decide how they want to get to the new feature:
- Software application only = engine-only free update
- Software + new features/datasets = feature-only upgrade
- Software + new features/datasets + new library = full base package upgrade
You have the version 5 Platinum library and the version 6 Gold library, but no version 7 library. That's just fine. Upgrading your library isn't a requirement, but you don't automatically get the new version of your base package library unless you purchase the full (features/datasets + library) upgrade. With each new version of the software, we customize the libraries to complement the new features well. But, again, you don't technically need to purchase a Logos 7 library with your upgrade to enjoy the new features of Logos 7. You're just more likely to have a richer experience if you do. The new about panel you're referencing aims to help provide this clarity for users so they fully understand what they do and don't have.
And for those who aren't well acquainted with how things work, when you upgrade your library, you're adding all the new books you don't own to your existing library—you never lose anything—and getting charged only for those new books. We call this dynamic pricing.
Hope this helps a little.

Darn ... sort of [:S].
Although I appreciate the discounts and occasional credits I get from Faithlife ... the thought of another $5 credit gets me going through my wish list ...
Oh well ,,, Another happy exercise of looking what else I can add to my library ... [:)]

Phil,
I have a "Logos 7 library". I used to have the Logos 7 Gold Library I purchased Sept 23 2016).
Now I can update my Logos 7 Gold library to Logos 7 Gold library for over $400.
How many "Logos 7 Gold libraries" are there?
Is there any way to find out what I actually purchased on Sept 23?

Go here: Order History
There is a Logos 7 Gold Library (resources only), and a Logos 7 Gold Base Package (resources + feature set). Perhaps you purchased the less expensive library, and the Base Package is $400 more? Just a guess.
Thanks to FL for including Carta and a Hebrew audio bible in Logos 9!

Got this email too. I suppose you can't have too many Logos 7 packages, but I'm not convinced that my wife would agree...[8-|]

I assume that is the case. When L7 first came out feature sets were not bundled together with the libraries. After some missteps, they arrived at the current setup.
So to clarify for Stephen: You purchased a "gold" library, but not the "feature set." If you have a Logos Now membership, you acquired access to those features for as long as you subscribe. If you want to permanently own them, purchase the feature set

Petah,
Thx for the reply.
In August I purchased the Logos 7 Bronze library with the Logos 7 Full feature set.
In September I upgraded to the Logos 7 Silver library.
Over the next couple of months when I went to the Recommended Upgrade page I read "Stephen you own the Gold library. We recommend you upgrade to the Platinum".
When I go to my Order page and click on my September Order the Gold library page comes up telling me I can purchase it for US$417.
So what library did I purchase in September?

Hmm. Since your September order brings you to something you can purchase, you'll probably have to email or call Customer Service.
The only other thing I can think is that it was refunded, so it shows up available for purchase again. If you click on the order number (not the item name) is there a line struck through any item on the order, to indicate it was returned?
Thanks to FL for including Carta and a Hebrew audio bible in Logos 9!

Stephen,
I looked up your account. It looks like you purchased the Gold library on September 23, 2016, but sent a return request the same day for the Gold library. That's why it says you can purchase the library again.
Hope that answers your questions.

I got a different email (see below). I bought Logos 7 Bronze (library and full feature set) back in October. This email is inviting me to get the Full Feature Set. I don't see anything that gives me a $5-off promo code, though. How do I access the promo code?
