Is this actually for real??????

C'mon Logos!!! A book that regularly sells for 42.99 and now we only have to pay 39.99???? A massive savings of three whole dollars on a pre-pub. I looked at this latest offer (and actually getting bombarded with these things) and I felt like taking a little trot down the road, like 10 or so miles!!! This cannot be for real!!! Seriously!!!

Betcha U mean this prepub - which gives $3 or 6% off. Not impressive in the slightest.

You gotter Scooter! Sorry I didn't give that link. It's almost like saying "fifty cents each or two for one dollar" ... not quite but right next door to it. Seriously, who's at the helm to put up stuff like that?

It is $54.99 in paper on Amazon, so it is still a pretty good deal either way.

Prepub makes me wait + there is a money value to time. In this situation, I should get a discount, + a substantial one, for having to wait. I would like 40 % minimum.

Pre-pub used to look like that. I still see occasional resources with fairly substantial discounts, but they are not usually high-demand resources, or commentaries of any kind.

Don't forget the role of publisher restrictions, either.

I think this if very likely. As I understand things, Concordia Publishing House works very hard to control their prices so that they can offer the best prices to their LCMS members with their print books via their own stores and mail order. And so their books are not on discount on Amazon. And their books are only in a few of their own collections and rarely (never) on sale here at Logos.
