Is there anyway to set up Logos 4 for specific book commentary look up?

Hello everyone. I have a question. Is there anyway for me to set up Logos 4 to look up specific commentaries when I go to a specific book of the Bible? Thanks if anyone can help.
example:
If I go to the book of Matthew: Have Expositor's Bible Commentary look it up first.
If I go to Mark: Have Tyndale Commentaries look it up first.
If I go to John: Have Word Biblical look it up first.
etc.....

That is an intriging idea, Troy, but I'm not aware of a way. Others may know how to do this.
It also might influence another Thread discussion on ('the' "best") commentaries for a particluar Biblical Book.
[Back in libronix 3this could be done -- with a lot of work -- because in L3 we could create "Serial associations that would "track" books by either Ot or NT or by Book].
L4 does not have that same user definable Serial Resource ability. All Serial resources are "hard-coded' in.

I guess this would need a new feature ... the ability to prioritise a collection. Which may not be a bad idea.
So define a collection of "Fave commentary on each book" and then priotise that above the commentaries ...

I am not sure if this could be done with resource tags or not, I am not that familiar with that feature. I do know you could setup a study layout for each book of the bible and include those resources you want to include in that layout.
It is also possible to setup collections specifically identifying the resources you want associated with that collection. For example you could have a collection named Matthew and then include the resources you would like searched when that collection is selected.
Prioritizing resources is the other option, but I do not think you can have different priorities for different books of the bible. Maybe someone with more knowledge of L4 (that would be the majority of the forum) can tell us all if this can be done.

This is probably the only way to do this in Logos 4 right now.

You could set up one collection containing your favorite commentary for each book of the Bible. Then in your passage guide commentaries section change it from "all commentaries" to "favorite commentaries". When you run the passage guide only the commentary relating to that book will show up.

Troy,
Have you tried using the advanced prioritization limits with your prioritized commentaries? This allows you to set a range for which a book or series is preferred over others.

I knew someone smart would eventually jump on this thread and teach us all something. Thanks Damian

Damian,
Thanks for the tip. I tried the advanced prioritized way also. I looked at the wiki page and checked out the instructions and watch the video on it as well. I also have been thoroughly checking out my Camp Logos manual for the directions. Seems to work on my Expository Bible Commentaries but doesn't seem to be working on any other commentaries. I must be missing something. I have watched that video tip about 3 or 4 times, doing exactly as the brother is doing it, and still it's not working the way I would like it.
example: when I want to do open a passage guide-
have my EBC to look up only Matthew.
have my " " look up Matthew as well.
have my " " look up Mark.
have my " " look up Luke.
etc....etc...
I would love for it to work like this if I could figure it out, but if not I'll just set up a "Faves Collection" for my different individual commentaries like someone earlier recommended.
Oh well. Thanks to everyone for the help!
Only if I can get this Logos 4.0b to stop crashing
Grrrrrrr...........
lol.

I have set up several collections that each had a good number of books in them. I later wanted to have certain books show up near the top of the list when I search on that collection. What I did was go to LIBRARY and rename the resource with 2 zeros in front of the name. When I closed down and searched on that collection ... the resource I wanted was right there at the top.
ie: 00 AT Robertson ... OR ... 00 WBC John; 01 Pillar John AND I don't think changing the name or adding a number affects the PRIORITIZATION scheme.
BTW: You could have a collection (with just one book in it) for each book for which you want a specialized search. OR, have a collection with many books in it where you number the books for the order in which you want them to appear in your search.
I don't know if this is the BEST way to do these things but so far it works for me.
