HYPERLINKING

In Logos 3 hyperlinking seemed a simple process.  I could select a particular page of a resource that I wanted to hyperlink to - select "copy location to clipboard" - and then go back to my document (ie. Word document), highlight the selected text, select ctrl K, then ctrl V, and that would give me a completed hyperlink.   Does Logos 4 have this feature of "copy location to clipboard?"  If not, how can I hyperlink to resources in Logos 4?

I also notice that all of my previous hyperlinks to resources in Logos 3 now open the resource out of the resources in Logos 4.   What's up with that?

Thanks for your help.

It seems to apply the hyperlinks to the last program loaded. Ifyou were to delete and then re-load L3 then the hyper links would go to it. People have noticed htis behavior but I'm not sure if there is a "fix" for it.

It was. But -- in L3 there was an internal "button" that could be clicked to let Logos know what features were being used. I think that most of the "keeners" on these Forums must have turned therir buttons to "off"  -- Because when L4 was being created Logos looked at the features being "used" ie theose who had their systems "reporting" back to Logos, and designed much of L4 based on that feedback. They appeared to be quite surprised at the "hue and cry" on these boards when folks"favorite " features did not make L4. Logos replied "But NO ONE was using that feature."  Well it appears that a lot were but must have had the "reporting"  button turned off. OR Logos had no way of evaluating who was a "power" user when looking at the "responses"?

Anyways Hyper-linking (or the lack there of in NOtes) in L4 has been a big issue on these Forums.

SteveF, thanks, your comment makes more sense to me than most of what I see. Without sounding arrogant, I've been using Logos from its beginning, and while the product has wonderfully matured, they never dropped the ball so badly with leaving out those features "power users" go for, e.g., hyperlinking to articles, external PDFs, etc. Thus, over the many years, as with your "old" Bible, it's literally full of good notes, links, to articles, papers, etc.

As a long time user, I jumped on the L4 wagon instantly! Even "upgraded"! I went to the first L4 workshop with Morris Proctor . . . and must confess, I've been progressively disappointed with L4's "lack" . . . Please don't hear me knocking Logos. I research and write everyday, it's my life and livelihood. I won't quit using Logos software, but, I may have to drop L4 and come back in 6 months or a year when it, hopefully, will have the features of its heritage, L3.

As noted, I suspect the developers may have underestimated the number of people seriously using this software, seriously using it for years, accumulating and building a reservoir of tools (and links) . . . maybe L4 will be there on the "sooner" side . . . I'm already looking forward to its speed. But, in the meantime, back at the ranch, it looks like it's L3 for awhile longer . . .

Thanks again for your note, Jerry

I didn't use L3 so I'm not sure if it works exactly like it did before, but this functunality is still available - see this page http://wiki.logos.com/Hyperlinks. This also deals with making them use L4 rather that L3.
