Sermon Editor and Layouts

I have a layout that I have used for a very long time and when Logos 7 came out I added a blank sermon editor to the layout and it has always seemed to work fine. It loads the workspace and it loads a blank sermon editor screen. But here lately, every time I load my workspace it loads the last sermon that I worked on, and then I have to close it and open up a blank sermon editor. I know that it is easy just to open a new sermon editor but that is not the way that it is suppose to work. Does anyone know what is going on with this?

If I understand the problem, I am unable to reproduce the issue.
Are you using Mac or Windows? Is it possible you in inadvertently updated the layout?
What happens if you close the sermon that opens, open a blank sermon, then update in the layout menu, and then close and reopen the layout?

Michael, if I'm understanding you correctly, the reason for this behavior is that layouts include a specific sermon document. It does not create a new sermon document each time the layout is loaded--it loads that document. If the document is blank, it might appear as though it is creating a new document but it is just reloading that specific, empty sermon.
This behavior is the same for all document types to my knowledge.
I hope that helps clarify the behavior you are seeing.
