Will there be a Logos version of Michael Heiser's new book Reversing Hermon?

It comes out next month and is available for pre-order now on Amazon:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0998142638/ref=ox_sc_mini_detail?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER
I know that there's a different publisher this time, but since he's on staff and there's currently a Faithlife study group for The Unseen Realm, it would make sense that Faithlife would be prepared to offer a Logos version at the same time it launches elsewhere. Does any one know? Hoping someone from Faithlife will reply. I will buy it the day it comes out if so.

I hear it will be another great work of fanciful fiction. [:)]

Mattillo, I was at his conference on Saturday and asked him. He said he did not know, that it was another department that makes those decisions. That's why I posted the question on here, to see if someone from Faithlife will answer. Mike said that he made sure that there is a clause in the agreement with the publisher of Reversing Hermon that Faithlife is allowed to release a Logos version, so it appears to simply be a matter of if Faithlife is going to digitize it or not. Hoping that they do and that it is ready for next month when the book releases. I'd rather pay Faithlife than Amazon.

FL will put it through pre-pub so I wouldn't hold out on it being ready next month. FL is never about speed to market.

Thanks for the reply doc. I'm familiar with the pre-pub process for sure, I guess my thought/point was that unlike any other pre-pub from any other author, Mike is on staff and his book The Unseen Realm was published by FL and is currently the second best selling resource that they offer out of 20,792 resources (looking at the Logos store right now). So even though they're not publishing the new book, they're bound to sell a lot to Logos users if they have it ready when it releases. You would think that if they were going to run it through the normal pre-pub process, that it would have already been up ahead of the release, but I don't see it.

I think there would be a lot of interest in Dr. Heiser's new book. While I wouldn't necessarily agree with everything he says, he raises important issues worth considering. IMHO his last books were well written. If logos releases his new book, I'll seriously consider buying it too. Keep well Paul

Technically, that was a Vyrso edition, and therefore didn't need a prepub process... Same as Dr. Heiser's Facade series on Vyrso...

I'm thinking further back to an earlier title that was pre-Vyrso and actually was not considering Vyrso because personally I believe a book like this should be in full Logos format rather than the quick and nasty Vyrso format.

I'm still hoping to hear from someone at Faithlife one way or the other so I can plan accordingly.

That's good to know! I was saddened when I read that in one of his comments he simply replied "no" to the thought of it making it to logos so maybe now he has changed course (or the publisher)

This is from Mike's email newsletter that I just received:
"Announcement about Reversing Hermon and a Kindle version:
The publisher of Reversing Hermon says that he hopes to have the book shipping before March 24 (the date you’ll see on the Amazon page). And there will be Kindle and Nook (B&N) versions about a month after the hard copy book ships.
I also hope to license the book to Faithlife/Lexham/Logos for their own digital version."So it seems that unfortunately there will not be a digital version available at launch from either Amazon or Logos. I'd still rather have a Logos version than an Amazon version, so it would be nice to know from FL is this is something they plan on getting done in the near term or if I should just go ahead and buy a hard copy or Kindle version.

Meanwhile, there is a nice two hour and 56 minute Reversing Hermon presentation on youtube to tide you over!

Hopefully he'll do an Audible version too. That was really helpful for me to follow along with the digital version of The Unseen Realm.

Sent this question to Defender Publishing:
"Hello, I am interested in purchasing a copy of Reversing Hermon by Michael S. Heiser. However I haven't found any digital version of the book, for example a Kindle version. Will there be a digital version of the book available?"
Received this reply:
"Yes, we will have it available on Kindle and Nook. They don't usually release the digital version for about 60 days after the actual book release. So it should be available digitally around May sometime.
"
So "around May" 2017.

Thanks for reaching out to them Jason, good to get an update. The paper copy is sitting here in front of me, got it almost a week ago from Amazon. I was never interested in the Kindle version, just the Logos version so that it will be searchable and I can make notes linked directly to Bible verses and other resources. It seems foolish that Logos didn't get this done as part of their new Pre-Order initiative, especially when the publishing contract allows for it and Mike's last book is the second best-selling Logos resource. Out of 20,820 resources currently for sale in the Logos store, it's second behind only the ESV Bible. Seems like a no-brainer if the goal is to sell books. Anyway, I'll wait for the Logos version, but could have spent the money I used to buy the paperback on an item from my Logos wish list instead.

Disappointed that the price on Amazon.ca is twice the price on Amazon.com... [:(]

You know you can switch from amazon.ca to amazon.com in your Kindle account settings, even as a non US resident.

Is there a way of doing this without lying about my address? It won't allow me to change stores without providing an address.

You're allowed to transfer your account to amazon.com with a Canadian address. You can do so here:

Here are details about who can buy kindle books from which store (listed by countries):

I ordered it from Amazon. Would have gladly ordered it in Logos if they had it available.

I guess sorta off topic...
About a decade ago I worked night shift and as long as the topics weren't too far out there I would listen to Coast to Coast AM when I was able, though I didn't advertise it because I didn't want other Christians to think I was crazy. Also listed to a Christian podcast that discussed C2C style topics. Heiser was a guest on both those shows that I listened to for many years.
Then in 2014 I became a youth pastor and my stepdad bought Logos for me. Cant remember exactly if it was a blog post or something in the Logos home page of the software but the first time I realized the Heiser of Logos was the same Hesier that I listened to talk about C2C type stuff my mind was blown.
Hope Hesier's works get much publicity. I always enjoy listening to his podcasts.

Interestingly, it is no longer purchasable.
I'm glad I got it on PrePub while it was there.

same here but I wonder why it is not longer purchasable
It’s been taken down due to plagiarism!..............NOT! LOL 😂
Just kidding! I don’t know, but hey, look at BECNT on John, it was quietly taken down too 😁

This witch hunt for plagerism is getting increasingly annoying. I don't understand why they can't pull the book, have the author fix it, and then reissue an updated edition. I know we haven't heard why Heiser's book got pulled yet but I hope the same doesn't happen like it did for O'Brien and BECNT John. Per best commentaries, O'Brien's was one of the best and now it is lost forever. Sillyness though I'm not an academic

Let’s remember DAL was joking.
But, ‘Witch hunt’? You demean the writer whose efforts were taken. And then, in unintensional instances, the un-scholarly behavior of the ‘scholar’.
And the ‘witch hunt’ discussion is quite early (greeks). So, you wonder concerning the synoptics. And Jude/2ndPeter. Ok, for the religious.
"If myth is ideology in narrative form, then scholarship is myth with footnotes." B. Lincolm 1999.

Good point Denise... i meant no "demeaning" I know the commentary plagerism discussion has been discussed elsewhere so no need to rehash here. It is just a shame really

Witch Hunt is obviously not the best term either

Still the question remains, what happened to Michael's book "Reversing Hermon"

I remember reading in his blog or email chain that his 60 second scholar series got pulled from Amazon because he was switching publishers. Maybe the same here?

Hi folks,
I'll just chime in to make it clear that some of Mike's books are going through rights transfers between publishers. There is no problem with his work and the books will reappear once details are settled. Sorry for the confusion!
