The all-white appearance of every page of every resource is somewhat sterile to the imagination. Is it possible to introduce various shades of white for random resources? This would help give each resource a personality.

Thank you very much for the suggestion, as you are aware unfortunately this isn't something that could be changed per every resource at this time, this is definitely something that could be considered.
In the meantime I would suggest maybe changing the white to a different color via
Tools > Program Settings > Accessibility > Resource Panel Background
This could help out in the meantime alleviate your concerns about the aesthetic, I hope this helps.
