Hi Claude,
Can you post a screenshot of your DirectX Diagnostic tool's Display1 tab?
- Click on the "Start" Button.
- In the Search Box type dxdiag and press <Enter>. The DirectX Diagnostic Tool pop-up window should appear.
- Click the "Display 1" tab.
- Take a screenshot of that window, and post it here.

or is this zip better I could not make the diagnostic tool larger? Thanks for the help.

Thanks for the image, Claude. Can you check to see if you have any updated drivers for your graphics processor? Intel has a convenient tool that will help check to see if there are any drivers available for your graphics processor. You can get that here. Once you have it run look for display, or graphics. The current driver is from 2015, so look for the newest driver you see related to your graphics processor.
If there is an update, and after you run it (be sure to reboot after you install any updates) if the behavior continues, can you post a new image of the same tab, and the "Display adapter" section of Device Manager? (from the start menu search for "device manager," open it and click the Display adapter" option) Sometimes if there is a discrete graphics card on the machine it isn't displayed in the DXDiag window. We might need to check for driver updates from the discrete GPU as well. Both NVIDIA and AMD have their own utilities like Intel's. If you have another display adapter made by either, you may want to check to see if their display driver utility detects an updated driver for the GPU.

Hi Claude,
Did the date and the version of the drivers get updated? DO you have a discrete graphics card that was listed in Device Manager that wasn't listed in DXDiag? Do you connect to a second monitor?

How is the second monitor connected? If you disconnect the monitor from the computer and then force the computer to identify that there is only one monitor connected? If you're not sure how to get to that let me know the version of Windows you're using.

Second monitor is not use while I experience this problem. I also noticed that visual copy is also blank when accessed from the right click menu and from the tools menu. Windows 10. I have five computers three have Logos loaded. I am not experiencing this problem on my other computers, which is why I was really interested in your update driver solution.

Is the Media tool under Tools also blank? Be sure that your computer has an internet connection when you check that. All the content there is online based.

Did anything outside of the computer change around when the homepage stopped displaying? Perhaps a Windows update?

Nope nothing

Yes media tool is also blank can't pull up anything in the media winda window.

Is Text Comparison also blank? What happens if you resize the window? What is Program Scaling (Tools>Program Settings) set to?
0 -
Had not thought of that as I don't use it often, but yes it is also blank. Program scaling is set to 100%. Also my custom start up screen is also blank.

Hey Claude! This is definitely sounding like a rendering issue for certain elements within Logos. Are there any other programs you operate that may experience a similar rendering issue? This will have to be a program specifically and not something like a website, as browser elements are rendered differently.

No I have been checking my other programs and have not experienced any issues.

Hi Claude, we got your email. One last question, and I can have development look at what we have. You didn't mention earlier if resizing the window changes the behavior at all. Does the missing content reappear after resizing the Logos window?
0 -
No resizing had no effect.

Just a thought:
Have you restarted your computer since installing the video driver updates (even if it didn't say you had to)?
[Worth a try?]

Claude, is Google Chrome installed on your machine? If it is not can you install it from here. If it is installed make sure it is up-to-date. Click the three dot menu button in the top right of Chrome, hover over "Help" and select "About Google Chrome." The next page will either tell you Chrome is up to date, or will start downloading an update.
Once it is either installed or updated, please open Logos again and let us know if that changes anything. Can you record the version of Chrome if this doesn't help?

Are you casting the whole screen to your TV? Is this happening when this behavior occurs with Logos?

Should I attempt an uninstall and re=install. given the size of my library this may take a couple of days.

Hi Claude,
I've updated the case with the version of Chrome you have installed.
If this is your primary machine I don't think uninstalling and reinstalling Logos is something we need to try at this point. If this is an ancillary machine (you mentioned you have Logos on multiple machine unaffected by this behavior) and you can start the process and tuck it away somewhere to let it finish the process then I don't think it would hurt. I would be curious to know if you have any Windows restore points not to far ago, but before the behavior started. It's not entirely unlikely that something outside of Logos changed that is impacting Logos in this way.

This is my primary machine and last restore point is back in July 2016.

Hi Claude,
We haven't changed anything that would cause these aspects of the software to become blank. There might be a graphics driver setting you can change that will change the behavior. This article talks about how to get to it. You may also want to try uninstalling the driver altogether, and reinstalling it.

Tried that when I did these from your earlier recommendation.

You did have Logos 7.4 SR-1 on February 13, 2017

Yes, we updated Logos 7.4 to SR-1 on February 13, 2017, but that doesn't mean we changed anything that would affect the areas of the application exhibiting this behavior. Here are the release notes. We would likely be getting many more contacts about this behavior if it were due to a change in the software. I'd be surprised if you were the only one running an Intel HD Graphics 4000 integrated GPU, and the homepage being what it is, it is likely people wouldn't just ignore the behavior you're experiencing. I'm sorry this is happening, but without more data from more people I don't think there is anything we can do about this.

Just looked through this and didn't see this suggestion (maybe I missed it): Repair Logos.
Here's how to do that in Windows 10
- Hit the Windows key on your keyboard.
- Type "Control Panel" in the search box (select it when you see it pop up).
- Select Programs > Programs and Features (or just Programs and Features), and then select the program.
- Find "Logos Bible Software;" right click and select "Repair."
- Follow the directions on the screen.
It may or may not work, but it's a simple fix that might restore something that's missing, or fix something that's broken. Worth a shot.

So on this machine I just will have a $25,000.00 Logos Bible Software investment brick when it comes to some functionality and should not expect any further support from faithlife?

Uninstalled Logos and went from 72gb free in drive C: to 122gb free in drive C:, that means Logos is using 50gb on this machine, wow. Wondering now how long the re-install will take and will it produce a more stable software. I know, Tommy you said it might not but here is hoping.
Again thanks for all of the help.

re-install worked I have the home page back. After the download of 29.8gb worth of updates,, which will probably be followed by indexing, I will try media and text comparison.

Thanks to FL for including Carta and a Hebrew audio bible in Logos 9!
