Keylink errors in the Psalms

I have noted in the past few weeks more key link errors in the Psalms that I would expect.

It would be good if I could simply press a button and upload the possible error to Faithlife. The typo button is not suitable.

The errors seem to be dependent both on which Hebrew text and which Hebrew lexicon I am using.

Using LHB in Psalm 27:2 most lexicons correctly identify "against me" although they do not comment on the rather unusual form.

However using SESB2, HAL links "against me" to "height", DCH links it to "upon", LTW and TLOT link it to "faithful". The ABDB even suggests it is someone's name!

In Ps27:2 TLOT mistakes "to come near"

Also in Ps 27:2 TLOT mistakes "flesh".

In Ps 27:5 ABDB misses "the rock".

In Ps 27:7 DCH introduces "furrows".

In Ps 27:9 DCH is not the only lexicon that confuses "nostril".

In Ps 27:11 DCH has the LORD shooting the psalmist rather than teaching him.

In Ps 27:11 several lexicons introduce umbilical cords or similar body parts.

Some errors seems quite strange eg in Psalm 28:2, "temple" in LHB and BHS keylink to TDOT to the entirely wrong word but one with a similar meaning in English. How does that happen?

Enough examples!

Very happy to do this. However without doing a fair bit of work I do not know whether the "mistake" is due to the Hebrew text or the Hebrew Lexicon, or both.

Do I do the typo on the text or the lexicon?

The text, because there is a link table between text and the main lexicons. There are different lemmas with different morphologies, but the main "issue" I found with "against me" (Ps 27.2) was was linking to BDB where it can't relate to the (complex) preposition meanings, unlike DBL Hebrew. I can't get a link to TLOT, though??

The linking to TWOT was consistent:

1624p עַל (ʿal) above.

There are nearly 900 occurrences of the verb ʿālâ in the OT. The most common meanings in the simple tenses are “go up” (over 300 times), “come up” (over 160 times) and “ascend” (17 times). In the causative stems the two predominant meanings are “to bring up” (over 100 times) and “to offer” (77 times). The other 230 uses of the word are translated about 85 different ways in the AV.

Looking all these up can get quite exhausting! Which of course is why I would like to get to the correct answer every time and quickly.

The example you cite of 'ali in Psalm 27:2 is quite confusing.

Perhaps the following table will help???

The first column is the lexicon involved, the next 4 entries relate to the Hebrew text used. They are BHS4.18, LHB, SESB2 & BHS3.5. Some lexicons have no link.

HAL on account of // I // on account of // height
