Yes & No. For obvious reasons it isn't in Amazon's or Faithlife's interests for you to do so. However, Logos has a "personal book builder" tool. If you assess the legality of such, it is technically possible to import other books. They must be in .docx format.

I read through the thread you linked, and the first thing that stuck out in my mind was the Mac thing. Guess I should have said I am on a Mac—don't hate me!—and so it appears your downloader won't work for me.
