VBScript to loop through notes

In L3, there was the object model reference that documented the API for Logos. Does this still work for L4? What I'd really like to do is write some VBScript or JScript to loop through a Notes file and extract the reference, title, and note content.

the main note is in one database(notes.db), but you need to refer to a second seperate database and link a few tables in both together to get any meaningful information to export.

Sadly, it would have to be done as a program(Application).

If there is "real" demand for a tool like this I would be happy to consider writing it, it would be a one-way "Export Only" tool tho, not an import, and future changes to the Notes.db architecture may stop it functioning.

What are you thinking, CSV or RTF or purely plain text output?

Even better! My goal is to be able to wrap it in HTML, so something parseable. I do most of my work in Perl, so the fact that it's in a database is music to my ears. I really don't care for VB... So which tables should I be concerned with? If you just told me which tables, I could probably do this. I'd love to have something like this as output:

I see that the title is in Documents\DocumentInfo.db (keyed on Id) and that the Notes are in Documents\Notes\Notes.db (keyed on Id). When I pull the info from Notes.db (Id, Data, UserTitle, RichTextContent, Position), I'm not sure what to do with the tags (<Paragraph>, <Run>, etc). Is there an easy way of transforming this to HTML w/o having to get into XML? I know very little nothing about XSL.

as far as i know, you'll have you'll have to parse it manually/programatically to remove the "Logos4 Stuff"

Would anyone like to help? I have the bulk of the code at http://westwoodfamily.org/drop/exportLogos4Notes.txt. The ONLY thing left is to transform the Logos4 stuff to HTML. Take a look at the script - the last function at the bottom is what needs to be filled in. Once that's done, you can export your notes to HTML and print them.

Well I know next to nothing about XSL but depending on the complexity I might be able to write an XSLT that would do the job.

What is the incoming structure, and to what would you map it on the way out? / well OK I see your desired output above; but what does the XML input look like?

This can be "easily" done with XSLT, which is what the language is for. I need the see the full XML of the note file, and I'm not sure how to do that on my own files (I don't mess with databases if I don't have to).

Nevertheless here's a rough template:

I didn't realize that was a table (don't know why, I knew it was sql-lite?) Somehow that fact escaped me, and it doesn't make me happy because it makes me believe that this is what Logos is going to end up doing with the sermon file add in, I hope not.

Am working on a decoder/exporter and printout function for notes, when a get spare minutes, but it will likely be Easter before i can give it my full attention and quality time..
