Exporting to Word (Precept marking)

I have a question.

Is it possible to export Bible text that has been marked up (i.e; Precept marking & highlighting) to Microsoft Word - including the mark ups?

I have a Logos 5 Gold Library - upgraded to Logos 6 engine - and have added a Logos Now subscription so that I have all the features of Logos 7.

When I export Bible text to Word - any marking or highlighting that I have done is not carried over to the Word document I'd like to share with my Small Group Bible Study class.

Does anyone know of a way to get the mark ups to carry over to the Word Document?

If not, I'd like to suggest that the ability to export (including mark-ups) be added to the export feature.

No, this isn't possible largely because Word itself doesn't have those features. Your only option is to take a screenshot.

You should be using the L7 engine. Are you not?

Depends on the highlighting since Logos and Verbum have more highlighting options. Copy from Logos 7.5 Beta 4 followed by paste into Word 2010:

I just tested right now, and text colour, inserted text, and bold/italic come across. Other than that, I don't think we have an official list of what's supported and what's not.

I also posted a reply relevant to this thread here: http://community.logos.com/forums/p/58058/413208.aspx#413208

Relevant reply includes Print to PDF

At BibleTech in 2010 some Logos programmers assured me that within a few months Logos would have the ability to print or copy for insertion in a word processing document text with all the markings I would have added. This is an important ability so I can hand out samples of text marking or create study documents for my own use.

But up to now there has been no progress and never any response from Logos when I've asked about progress. Is this something we can do now in version 5?

Printing was a major feature that was added in Logos 4.1 (http://wiki.logos.com/Logos_4.1) after BibleTech 2010. You can print the markup/highlights just as they appear in the resource display. If you have a "Save as PDF" printer driver installed on your computer (this is a third-party add-on), you can save the markup as PDF by printing to it.

I'm not sure who you talked to, but I think there may have been confusion/misunderstanding on their part if they assured you that we would allow markup to be copied into a word processing document.

We have never planned (nor do we plan) to export markup to word processors. At a fundamental level, this is simply because Word does not support the markup that Logos 4 creates; there is no way we can actually insert that markup into a Word document. (Note: some very basic formatting, such as text colour and background colour can be exported from the Print/Export dialog, but that's all.)

Sorry for the disappointing news (and that I've missed any previous posts where you've inquired about this).

One option is screen shot followed by insert/paste into Word document. Logos wiki => Screenshot

On Windows, another option is Bullzip PDF printer. Appropriate license enables printing mark ups to Word document (challenging to edit):

FYI: Word document has bottom line footer with Trial license. Noticed a few quirks in "printed" document..
