hyperlinks when reading offline??

It seems that the hyperlinks are not working on the iPhone / iPod Touch while being offlne. Of course this is true when you don't have the corresponding resources downloaded for offline reading. But I would like to be able to have the bible-text references in the several books working on one of the bibles I did download. Or am I asking for the impossible...?
