Announcing: Improvement to Bible search on mobile
Today we shipped some improvement to Bible search results on iOS and Android. Posting this here as it was a server change and won't show up in release notes.
Now the result includes the entire verse (instead of truncating at 100 characters) and it displays only Bible text (no footnotes, translators' notes, etc.). This brings mobile in line with desktop and web Bible search.
See the screenshots below for an example of how it works.

Thanks Daniel - this is very helpful and encouraging.

Do you envisage adding in highlighting of search terms as on the desktop platform?

Understood - but are there any intentions to include this change in offline search as well?

Love it! Great change! Thanks!
Can we have a way to specify which Bible we are searching?

How about an easy way to search in the resource we are reading? A search box at the top? It sounds simple to me but must not be easy to implement! Thank you!

Are you asking for more options than are currently given, or are you unaware that there has been some of this functionality already? Click on "top bibles" and select your choice.
Currently both the Bible Search Bible dropdown picker, and the verse range picker for Bible searches are very limited and difficult to use. Most Bibles are unavailable, confusing abbreviations, sorting problems, reference ranges missing, etc., etc. Also hoping this can be improved!

Agreed, but doesn't the bible picker allow you to chose from open bibles and/or your prioritized ones?
Something like that. I've never quite figured out how it chooses which Bibles it will display in the dropdown, but that would be a good guess.
It's certainly possible to search within the Bible / book you are currently reading (although even that has always seemed quite difficult to do to me... occasionally I've even tried to do it and just given up when I couldn't easily guess what the book's abbreviation might be and it wasn't too important).
