Performance improved in beta 2?

Is it just me or is the scrolling smoother, and changing resources faster?  However, when I change layouts, there is a pause and funky resize of the window for a few seconds... is this normal?

I have not particularly noticed performance increases. As for the window resize issue, that was happening to me some with beta 1 as well, sort of curious as to what causes that.

About the same for me which means slow.
