UI Conundrum: Can't Re-Arrange Tab Sequence

I'm not sure whose neato idea was to include a title popup when dragging a tab, to move it over. See image below.

Above the mouse icon, I'm wanting to move LSJ to the left. When you grab the tab, a long popup appears (the title). And the popup centers over the mouse point. And the left of the popup isn't allowed to exceed the left screen edge. So, you can't move the tab left. In my example, there's 4 more lexicons to the left; using the scroll arrows to move the view right does no good. The popup's screen-edge violation reverses back the tab scroll.

Which begs the question, why a title popup in the first place? I think it used to be a mini-bookcover.

I can't reproduce what you're describing. Moving the tab order works fine for me, even with very small tabs like this.

I'm not able to reproduce this. Could you let me know how many tabs you have open in this panel?

Thank you, Philana for the followup. The column is about 1/4th a screen. With nine tabs. There's always one crazy user!

That said, I tried widening the column. And then it worked, as Mark and you observed. Even allowed the popup to violate the screen boundary. So, I'd put it under the heading of a fluke. It definitely was not letting me move the tab, and even visably whirled the horizontal scroller in reverse.

But again, appreciate the checking.
