Beware if you order Pre Pubs

I have to admit this one has me a little steamed.  I guess things are really a little chaotic at Logos.

I order  Commentary on the Psalms by E. W. Hengstenberg on prepub.  I always order downloads.  Additionally, I set up my preference on the site to change all orders to downloads.  Well for whatever the reason, this prepub SHIPPED today to me. No download, no unlock, I have to wait for a CD.

Beware - check your orders carefully.  I didn't think I needed to, my bad...Angry

If you are running Logos 4 they will download automatically. You will not need to wait for them.

That would be great if true but I don't think so -- the fact that they sent a CD, I have to wait to enter the serial number in to generate an unlock code. If no CD had been sent, I think it works as you say.  Otherwise, there is an extra license available through the CD floating around.

Somebody can confirm, but Update Resources does nothing.

When they first announced the tool to switch the prepubs to download, Hengstenberg still wasn't available for conversion to download.  They eventually made all the prepub products downloadable, and I then ran the conversion tool again that to convert the Hengstenberg to download.

Not to gloat, but my Hengstenberg order downloaded just now. So it worked correctly for me.

If you do not wish to wait, you should be able to contact Logos and ask them to unlock the product for you.

Will Logos 4 even unlock resources with serial numbers on cd?

I too used the switch to download tool and thought that all my orders were set to download. Today I find out that I'm getting it mailed to me too. That's weird.

I'm not angry. Surprised. Inconvenienced, sure.

Yeah - me too.  I ran the convert all to download tool too, assuming that it would act as advertised, but like so much else lately, apparently it isn't so.  Personally I'm getting a bit tired of the 'a little chaotic' excuse - time Logos got it's act together.

You may want to run the tool again. I did, and it looked like there was yet another resource ready to go out as a CD in my future.

Peace to you Dominick!  *smile*   And Joy in the Lord!

I'd love to run that tool again, but I can't remember where it is!   Can you /or someone/ be of very appreciated assistance???

Here's how it works: •Visit the Downloadable Pre-Pubs Tool page http://www.logos.com/ChangeToDownloadablePrepubs

(Make sure you're logged in.) •You will see the list of your CD-ROM Pre-Pub orders. •Simply click the Submit button, and you're all set.

Rosie pointed out in another thread you may need to run this tool more than once. If a Pre-Pub dd not have a download option available when you run the tool, it would not be automatically switched over when a download was available. The script evidently only makes changes (when possible) to the current Pre-Pub page. Community pricing CDs (like Hengstenberg's Psalms) were not available as downloads until very recently.

I just ran the "CD-to-download tool" Monday morning. My Pre-Pubs downloaded without problem Monday evening.

Thanks for the heads-up.  I missed the notice that CD only pre-pubs would be available for download and the existence of a conversion tool.  Today, I canceled a remaining CD pre-pub and reordered as download. It appears to be too late change Hengstenberg though.

In the future I will need to run the tool to preserve the price of Community Priced resources, if they continue to default to CD when they convert to Pre-Pubs.

I think there is at least one pre-pub that will only go by mail: Learn to Use Biblical Greek and Hebrew with Logos Bible Software which is in DVD format.

    Edited.
