Bug (please fix!): Bible app doesn't recognize when it has internet access

iPad Pro 9.7 128GB wifi only; latest version of Bible app.

This is a long-standing bug that is very annoying. Every other app I have recognizes when internet connectivity has been restored. In case it's important, I won't have internet access due to being on flights or being in a location with no wifi I trust; and I can't or won't enable my phone's hotspot.

The Bible app functions pretty well (within well-known constraints) when there is no internet access. But when internet access returns, the app simply doesn't know about it. The Library will still only show downloaded books. Search still won't work. Lookup on a word just goes to the iOS dictionary.

The only way I know to recover is to exit the app, use iOS to kill it, then restart the app. At that point things begin functioning normally. Obviously, that's a lousy workaround.

I would submit logs, but I still can't do that via the gmail app. ;)

Please correct this problem. Thank you.

Donnie

This last release of Bible for Android also hangs up trying to find internet in the 1st place. It waits so long to recognize it & start that I've often given up & tried starting the app a 2nd time. Or a 3rd. But if I wait long enough (zzzzz......), it'll open. I now just hope I remember why I wanted to open it in the 1st place. (LOL)

    Grace & Peace,

Hey Donnie! This is due to how the app has been implemented on iOS and is something we can certainly look into. I'll get word across to our team to see what our options are.

Thanks for bringing this up as well Bill, this is not something we have too information on. Next time you experience a slow start up, please send us logs via the Report a Problem function in the app. We'd like to take a look at them and see if there's anything we can pinpoint.
