Feedback for the WebApp
Hi Logos Team, Developers and all involved,
first of: Thank you! WebApp develops quite nicely in the last weeks/month! Hard work, I know! And you asked for feedback, too, thats why I am writing, to identify my major area of pain. Only if you know what users are thinking will you be able to do something about it!
As a longterm Linux User the only reason to hold onto macOS or Windows was Logos.
Hopefully, this will soon be of the past. Although a native client for Linux (or at least a Windows version that was made compatible with wine (like Bibleworks did with their program)) would be top on my wishlist, the web app seems to become an ok alternative.
The number one feature I would require to stop booting into Windows or MacOS would be highlighting consistently across platforms: Windows/Mac <-> Mobile <-> Web.
Highlighting has been a major issue the way it is implemented right now. After using palette specific highlighting documents for a while, these documents became gigantic, leading to decreased performance. Somebody at Logos gave me the tip to switch to Resource specific highlight documents. This resolved the performance issues, but cluttered up the notes-section unnecessarily. Now the WebApp uses a new system, not able to show the Desktop highlights and vice versa.
If this issue would be streamlined towards an approach that 1. works, 2. is available cross-platform and 3. unclutters the notes files, I would happily switch to the WebApp for 70% of my time. (sadly, the 30 % left are made up of lacking features and areas without internet connection: Train, Airplain, my parents house... In these situations the iPad App is not a valid alternative, as it still lacks reverse interlinear and word lookup without internet connection).
Thanks again, I am grateful for all the good work you put in this product family!
Keep it up and God bless!
Thomas

Thanks for your feedback, Thomas. Glad to hear you're enjoying it so far. Linux users was one of the audiences that we were hoping to serve, so it's great to hear that the web app may meet most of your needs.
The good new is that our next generation notes platform will solve the very issues you're raising. Glad to have confirmation that we're on the right track. I don't have a time frame yet, but we've already begun some of the back-end architectural work.
