will we know when beta 2 is loading or does it load in the background?  I've been on for about 2 hours now and there is no indication of an update.

    If it's loading you'll see an blue icon in the system tray.

    If you don't see it by now, make sure you're connected to the internet and try again. You should see something within 5 minutes of starting L4.

    If you're still not upgrading, check your firewall settings and make sure L4 has proper permissions (outbound and inbound).

    my understanding is that you have to close 4.0 and reopen it, but I could be wrong on that.

    Please post threads under relevant sub-forums. To install the updates (we know it should give you more of a heads-up) you need to right-click on the logos icon in your taskbar and click Install Updates.
