Two questions:
1.) how would I do a search for how Jesus saw Himself--did he see Himself as God.
2) How do I search of Logos.com for books that deal with this.
I would say one thing you can do is a quick search on topic Christology or deity of Christ.
Also look at Mark 14:62, John 11:25-26, John 14:5-7. In these Jesus is making some very strong claims about who he thinks he is.
Thanks
To approach it more on your 1st question (how Jesus saw Himself) more than the 2nd (search of books--how others see him seeing himself), I'd suggest starting with a review of what He says about Himself in all places where He refers to Himself as "Son of Man" or "My Father", the places He says "I Am...", & "know me". I'd also suggest including His explanations of what "authority" He has, & where He talks about the object of worship. Here's a search that'll find those in a Bible search (whole bible or gospel = same result):
WOC:"Son of Man", WOC:"I am", WOC:"my father", WOC:"know me", woc:authority, woc:worship
Since Jesus' grasp of the Bible far exceeds ours, for the resulting verse list I'd also suggest using something like NTSK to examine the OT verses whose backgrounds enrich our understanding of what Jesus is saying about Himself.
I'm not sure I'll ever exhaust what He says directly about Himself even with just this starting point. But it is a starting point, however incomplete.
This start misses the implication of Jesus accepting worship from others (Jesus always points to God as the object of worship, as the search will show). It also misses an implied Jesus' self-identification with Isaiah's suffering servant in the servant songs, also worthy of study by examining all His predictions of His death (as in Scripture) & then looking for those Scriptures that He refers to.
Blessings on your journey! Mine is taking a lifetime....
What is WOC?
Words of Christ (also known as red-lettered text).
It will only match those literal strings when Christ says it, otherwise you'd get a lot more hits.
Alternate syntaxes:
([field words-of-christ] "Son of Man","I am","My Father","know me",authority,worship)
WOC:("Son of Man","I am","My Father","know me",authority,worship)
Similar search using WITHIN
("Son of Man","I am","My Father","know me",authority,worship) WITHIN {Speaker <Person Jesus>}
Keep Smiling [:)]
I don't really have the time to tweak my reply to make it more precise at this point (perhaps others will), but my thought was to search for specific semantic roles for the <Person Jesus> within the WOC. The Analysis mode of the Clause Search would be a starting point.
