what does L4 require as far as gb on Iphone to run effectively?

It all depends on how many books you want to download to the device.  I have an 8GB 1st gen iPod Touch and I've used at most 500MB (0.5GB) for the 8-10 books I downloaded.  I seem to recall from another forum discussion that the compression is different for the iPhone resources, and so they may take approximate twice the space that the book on your computer does.  In other words, a 5MB file on your computer would be 10MB on your iPhone. So, again, it comes down to how many books you want available offline. Personally I just have a few Bibles and then key books I'm reading, so 8GB is way more space than I'll probably use.  Your usage might be different.

    Hope that helps.

The iPhone app runs mostly online. You can choose books to download and their size is approximately the same as the size of the resource file on the desktop (1-2MB each for most books). Unless you want to download your entire library, the smallest iPhone has plenty of room for the Logos app. If you want to have your music, video or photo libraries on the device, take that into consideration as well.

Thanks for the clarification about the resource size - it seems that other thread was based on incorrect or outdated info.

On a related note, I really enjoy using the Logos app!  Maybe down the road I can update to a newer iPod to make the performance a little more snappy.  But even with my current device, it is very convenient.
