Install of latest download failed

I've had some unusual difficulities with downloading and installing updates since 4.0b has been released. My first difficulity came with the initial download itself. Until I ran the install program as administrator all install attempts failed.

My latest problem comes with yesterday's download, not sure what that is, but when prompted to "install update" the program starts the installer but stops and gives me an "Error writing to file" message. The file is is c:\..........\Libronix.DigitalLibrary.Controls.resources.dll. There is a message asking me to verify that I have access to that file.

So, what to do next? I'm the sole user of the computer. I'm logged on as administrator thus I should have access to every file/program I've installed right? Is this a 4.0b bug of some type? I never had these issues prior to 4.0b. And unless I solve what's happening it looks like I'm going to always have installation problems with future updates. Thanks in advance for any advice/assistance.

Run L4 "as Administrator" and then download the update (I assume this is SR-1?).

Thanks Dave! That seemed to work. However, I did notice a little hitch that also happened when I finally got 4.0b to install. On the first attempt to run L4 after the install the system crashes. I then close the program and restart it and it runs, seemingly ok. The same thing happened with this recent update, SR-1.

I have a similarly equipped Dell at home, Win 7, 8GB Ram HDD 500GB but 32-bit operating system. None of the updates have given me a problem. Could there be something unique to the 64 bit system that's causing this?

I don't think so. I've not had an install related crash on 32-bit nor 64-bit OS. A startup glitch might be caused by an "unknown" state that is automatically corrected or overridden during the next startup.

But installing "as Administrator" should be avoided.
