Author MEV?

The Author heading for the MEV has no entry. The preface records that Dr. Stanley M. Horton and Dr. James F. Linzey headed up the efforts of the Committee on Bible Translation to present a "more updated edition of the King James Version." My question is, why did FL choose to leave the author heading in the Library report empty?

I've noticed some English bibles do and some do not have that information. I'm looking into why some do and some don't. I'll post here when I find out, or someone else might that knows.

In the past we haven't captured author names for bibles, but as we've accumulated more bibles, for those bibles who have an author or translator that is very prominent, we have added authorial information. If there is an author or translator who is prominently featured on the title page it will often be captured in the metadata, but if it is not we don't hunt for editor or editorial boards to add it.

In this case no prominent author or translator is on the title page so no author was added to the metadata section where an author name would be.

I thought it had something to do with it being a translation update of the KJV as other translations NKJV, AV, ASV, etc. also lack this information. Again thanks for your explanation.

While most translations are by committee and as such are generally not listed... Taking for example NRSV for example scholar Bruce M. Metzger was chosen by it's committee to write the forward, but he is not the author. The NIV has a general introduction listed as from the committee. http://modernenglishversion.com/translators/ has a list of the MEV translators but I would find it odd to be included in Logos information unless it is printed in the Bible preface normally.
