I confess a pretty high level of newbiness on this, but I'm playing with doing searches on author datatypes. Specifically, I'm confused about the difference between Aristoteles and Aristoteles_bcs (which I think refers to Aristotle, book, chapter, section).
I know I can search <Aristoteles_bcs Poet. 3> and get a few hits in my library. Trying <Aristoteles Poet. 3> gets me 1 hit, but it doesn't relate specifically to the 3rd chapter.
On the other hand, if I simply search <Aristoteles Poet.> I get 623 hits, whereas <Aristoteles_bcs Poet.> only gives me 69.
From this, I think I get a sense of the differences, but I want to make sure. Hence, these questions:
1. (a) What is the precise difference between these two datatypes?
(b) Is there a syntax difference in dealing with these two?
(c) And how can I leverage the benefits of each type? That is, when do I use one versus the other?
2. When I let Logos construct the syntax for me through right-clicking a reference to Poet 4, it makes this
<Aristoteles_bcs = Aristotle, Poet. 4>
but I can get the same results this way
<Aristoteles_bcs Poet. 4>
Is there a difference between these two?
3. Why don't other author datatypes have this distinction?
Thank you in advance,
Lew
