I find the presence of note icons in resource text obtrusive and while I know we can disable notes via visual filter, this is not always ideal either. It would be nice to be able to have a signal that a note is present, be able to preview it (with tool tips as is the case when hovering over annotation icons) but have a more elegant/discrete solution.
With that in mind, I was experimenting on a style that would suit me. I came up with something I liked, which was a certain style of highlighting but with the icon setting set to none. Sadly, there is no preview available without the icon it seems. So, there goes this solution.
Is there a workaround to this? If not, I would like to suggest the ability to preview by hovering on the highlighted text not just a note icon.
If it is a problem to work like this, perhaps the a special key (like CTL for hyperlinks) could be used to combine with hovering.
