No If you have already done the "first time" indexing, Logos4 will not rebuild the index - only recently with 4.0b there is a new feature - a Bible Index - to separate your bible searching index from the regular one so this is probably what is being indexed with this update.
Logos4 will create a supplemental index when you purchase new resources and if you get enough new resources it will ask you (during search usually) if you want to "merge" the indexes - this will rebuild the index entirely.

I understand the new feature, but after downloading the new version, I now get a notice saying it is going to take around 137 hours plus to index this new feature. It only took 7 hours to index the entire folio version. What's up?

The indexer isn't very good at making guesses at how long it will take it to complete. Unless you have a pretty slow computer overnight should be enough time to index.

The 137 plus hours is after it ran all night on a computer with a 2.1 gig processor to boot. I have just cruised through numerous other forums and it appears there is a problem with indexing post latest update.

I keep getting kicked and having to sign in again. that's the reason for the 'x'.
Anyway, I begin indexing with about 17 minutes left, and in about 20 minutes I have about 3 hours and 30 minutes to go. Is this a bug that I keep reading about and can it be fixed tonight? or, is this somthing that can only be solved with a techie taking over my PC?

Ken, Milkman,
I don't know what may be behind 4.0b seeming to take longer to index. Most of the reports I've heard is the it indexes faster.... but there have been a few that report it being extra-slow. I wish I had an answer for you, but I don't, perhaps someone else can chime in with an explanation that makes sense.

this is actually the second indexing that is taking place. After the first download it indexed quite fast, then a second download, about four hours ago and now is still indexing. In the Windows Task Manager the Logos4 Indexer is working and seems to be doing something. Now if I'm being too impatient then that's ok, but I'm just a little leary now since reading other forums regarding indexing issues.
Would it have made any difference to say that I deleted L3 just prior to updating? I never use it any more. I synced L3, ran an update in L3. Closed it down, deleted it and then opened L4. First update went smoothly and now after the second update it sure is taking its time.
I'm at 5 hours remaining now.

Neither do I, but it estimates a time for the bible index and when that is complete comes up with another time for the Library Index. So you get lulled by 1 hour estimates and then get hit with 10 hour estimates.
