Can't Update to 4.0b

Earlier today, Logos downloaded something... but it must not have been 4.0b because after restarting it, my "About Logos" still says I have 4.0a. I have automatic updates/internet enabled. Also, I tried typing "Update Now" in the command bar, and it said that there were no updates available. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Dave, picking up on your earlier help re me re-installing the stable 4.0b SR1 -

Question: Any idea how long it is "supposed" to take to download the first "Pre-requisites" file?

This is a 2 yr old laptop Windows 7 32 bit, core 2 duo with (over) 2 ghz , 4 Gb RAM (3069? recognized?) DSL line with router to laptop wireless card? 185 Gb HD is half full (lots of free GB.

There is consistent CPU activity (fluctuating 2% - 56%)

But it has been running about 2hrs with no noticeable results (ie. no indication in progress bar etc.)

I noticed there were two .exe files going on . One was on the User side where I was trying to install. the other was on the Administrator side. I deleted the administrator side exe and every thing then installed fine. However I do not see any Logos prerequisites in the Control Panel.

I'll try to load the beta onto the Administrator side next and see how that affects thigns.

Prerequisites is about 20 MB - should take minutes and not hours. But if you have a working installation on the same computer it should not download Prerequisites and just give you the Logos4 installer (about 39 MB).

I would have expected to only see Prerequisites on the Admin side, as that is system-wide.

I have a similar setup with 4.0b on the Admin side and 4.0c beta in a Standard User account. When I installed in Std User there was no exe on the Admin side.

Are both installations working now?

That explains it. When the second Program (beta version) was put onto the Admin side the Prerequisite file loaded.

Yes, thanks all is now well.

I have a stable on the user side with downloads turned off and a beta on the admin sidewith downloads turned off.

Method "2" was WONDERFUL! .I was able to put both of these on in an evening.

I know how many hours (more like 2 days) that it took the other way. This whole process "sped" by in comparison.
