I have a new laptop (Lenovo X1 Yoga, Win 10 Pro (64 bit), i5, 8G RAM, SSD, touchscreen). I have installed Verbum 7 on it, downloaded my library, and indexed (which took an unexpectedly long time given the SSD, roughly 4x than on my older laptop or desktop using SAS drives).
When I open Verbum, performance drops like a stone. CPU runs at over 50% (Verbum uses 30% to 60% of total CPU) and it takes several minutes for the application to open and get to a stable set of screens (when it does at all). I have no similar problems with any other application --- office, AV editing, etc. --- and they continue to run fine, if a bit sluggishly when Verbum spikes the CPU above 50%. This does not occur on my Windows 10 Pro desktop or older Win7 laptop.
This problem has continued even after a full uninstall/reinstall cycle. It also occurs after reboot with no other open end-user applications.
I am opening automatically to a workplace with a set of five windows and a total of about 60 open resources. Memory utilization by Verbum ranges from 450M to 1Gb depending on what else is running, but there is no memory swapping to the SSD, and disk IO for Verbum is negligible.
Any thoughts/recommendations?
