I am having the same problem!
Have you tried "Set update channel to beta" in the command bar.
That should be the default, but you can confirm this in the about box "Logos Bible Software 4 > About Logos Bible Software 4" from the menu bar.
It is set to set channel to beta but still not updating.
I'm not updating either. My computer spent the night with a message "preparing your library". I finally rebooted this morning. A16 is not doing nearly as well as I thought it would for me at least.
I had the same problem last night. I closed the "preparing your library now" message. Just for grins I "restarted" (probably not necessary though).. then did a manual update from Tim's Release Note's. All went well. Indexing lasted maybe 20 minutes. Hope that helps! [:D]
meant Tom's [:)]
I could not get it to to auto-update since it was stuck in its loop. I downloaded the latest version. It was simple and has solved the problem.
I just did a manual update and all is well!
How do you do a manual update? I tried but it was like it wanted to do the whole download all over again.
Jerry, simply download the Logos4Mac.dmg from http://www.logos.com/logos4mac and copy the application to your Applications folder.

Thanks Tom that did the job, I was just nervous because I thought it was going to replace the whole program and start all over. But Tom you are the man!
