Android: Changes to a reading plan do not sync easily

I seem to have had this problem for a long time. I like to use reading plans, but sometimes I update them when I get behind in order to adjust the sections to fit within a timeframe. I tend to do this on the desktop, but whenever I do this the changes do not seem to synchronise to the android app. What tends to happen is that the android app loses the reading marks and keeps the old timeframes and there does not seem to be any way to "force" the app to resync. Is there any way to fix this other than uninstalling the android app and reinstalling (which is the only way I have found to get the app to properly sync again)?

I will need an android user to chime in, but it might be helpful to know: which specific version of the app and OS? Have you tried a full restart of the device?
