Those that know about George Muller--please share what draws you to his story: life experiences, faith, theology, etc. Help those on the fence know what is good about this set.

I live in Bristol, England, where George Muller ministered for a large part of his life. Still standing in Bristol are the four or five massive buildings which George Muller had built to house his 2000 plus orphans. The buildings are no longer an orphanage, but a college (and I believe one is being turned into luxory flats, even as I write). Nevertheless, they stand as an exciting testimony to the great man of faith who - never asking support from anyone but God - managed to feed, day by day - all those children that came to depend upon him.

I remember one story from his autobiography, where he leads his 2000 plus orphans in "thanks" for the breakfast that - at the start of the prayer - they didn't yet have .... by the end of the prayer, the breakfast had arrived.

Now surely it is worth spending a few dollars to find out more .... ???

Yes ... at least as a college it was still filled with destitute young people!!!!!

(I studied electrical engineering there back in the day, 1980-1982; and did an English Literature A-level evening class in one in 1993)

What a great story to have in your family!

If I remember correctly, George Muller chose the site for these orphanages to be outside of the city in the country-side, so that they would have fresh air. Alas, Bristol has long since swallowed them up, and they are now quite central. ... !!
