I am a new user.  Documentation was not included with my software, and I havent' been able to find on-line documentation for beginners, which I may choose to print.  I want to begin with the ability to view one or two translations in my workspace with a commentary displayed at the bottom.  All should be synchronized.  I'd like to have easy access to a Bible dictionary or other reference material without losing my workspace.   How do I switch commantaries without messing with the other items in my workspace?  I want to be able to do fairly complex searches which include and exclude particular words and have the Bible verses shown along with citations.  Then I'd like to copy them to Microsoft Word for futher study.

Does your iPhone information also appy to the iPod Touch

Please help.  Thank you.

Welcome. Use should start by viewing the videos on the Logos site.

    1) go to www.logos.com

    2) select the support tab

    3) on the support page, select the training videos

    4) come back to this thread and we'll answer your questions. What you want to do is quite easy.

Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

    Hi Candance,

Just to add that there is also a ton of stuff on the Wiki pages and the functionality of Logos on the iPod Touch is almost identical to the iPhone... except that you will need a WiFi connection in order to access everything. You can download some resources to the Touch to access on the go.

    God bless,

    Andy

And yes, the iphone information does apply to the iPod touch, with the caveat that not all functions are avaialble if you are not connected through wi-fi. I have an ipod touch and love the logos app!

And the training videos that MJ pointed you to will be very helpful! But when you are stumped with something particular, just start a new thread in the forums with that particular question, and plenty of people will help out!

Also, you can check the in-program help files as well for basic questions (press F1 in the program, or click the "?" icon in the upper right hand corner).

    Candance,

welcome to the Forums.  I hear you on the
documentation request.  Fortunately much is being built by the
    community:http://wiki.logos.com/

    Take a
look at the wiki for some pointers and then when you have a question,
feel free to ask it - we've got some search guru's here who can help you
with the searching, and some forum addicts who will do the rest.

    Now
    then....

I want to begin with the ability to view one or two translations in my workspace with a commentary displayed at the bottom.  All should be synchronized.

    1. Click your library button, type in a portion of the resource name (or abbreviation, e.g. NASB) and hit enter when it pops into view, or click on it with your mouse.
    2. repeat for your other resources that you want open.
    3. Click on the resource tab and drag it to a new position, you'll see a blue box outline following you around that will show you where the new resource will be.
    4. Finish rearranging your resources so they are where you want them.
    5. Now, Click the Book icon and choose a link-set (the letters)  - put all the resources on the same link set. (all A for example).
    6. Now when you scroll in one resource, the others will follow.
    7. Finally: on the top right of your screen click Layouts, the top right hand layout is a small thumbnail of what your set up looks like at this moment, Click the tiny pencil beside it and change the name to something meaningful like, "Study".
    8. Now when you want to jump back to this layout, you can click Layout and then on the left column choose "study"  Boom you're right back where you left it.

For a visual of what I'm describing here, check out the wealth of video's at http://www.logos.com/videos

    They're all excellent.

I'd like to have easy access to a Bible dictionary or other reference material without losing my workspace.

Simply find it in your library and right click and choose "open in a floating window" it's that easy.

How do I switch commantaries without messing with the other items in my workspace?

Similar to above, just make sure it's not linked if you don't want the others to scroll with you.

Does your iPhone information also appy to the iPod Touch

I believe for the most part it does, you'll have to visit the iphone forum for more specific answers.

Hmm Sarcasm is my love language. Obviously I love you.
