Bible Reference Links in Personal Books

How can I get Logos to recognize Bible references in other languages?

I have several resources that I have put together, but since they are in a different language, none of the Bible links work, which cuts out the most basic feature of the program.

Ideally, Logos could add it to their recognized book names and it work automatically. Is that possible?? It's Thai script so I am pretty sure it wouldn’t conflict with anything else. I would be more than happy to get you the book names to add to the compiler.

Barring that, Is there a macro for Word that might help create workable links? Like, to run 66 find and replaces at the same time to find and replace book names with English? Or, better yet, just add links.

I could ask a lot of questions, but seeing the document might be easier. Can you upload your document?

I searched the Wiki page. I thought there would be a page that not only listed the Bible Book Abbreviations which Logos recognizes automatically in English, but also in other languages. But I didn't find it. I thought that there are Bible book abbreviations which Logos recognizes in German for example. I know they do not recognize Thai. I don't know what would need to happen for them to do that. Probably Thai base packages, which I don't think we will see soon.

Your work around would be either to search and replace the Thai ones with English ones as you mentioned yourself. Or you could tag all Bible references like this example: [[ ลูกา 1:4 >> Luke 1:4]]. But this would be very labor intensive.

As far as search and replace in Word, you might find this forum thread helpful: http://community.logos.com/forums/t/51122.aspx

You probably already found you answer but when I did a personal book for the Nuova Riveduta 2006 bible (Italian), I put the language as Italian and it recognized nearly all of the references with a few exceptions which I then found the accepted Logos abbreviations in English to be helpful (as many spellings are similar in their abbreviations) and if I had tried everything else, on a few books, I put the full Italian bible book name and it worked.  Hope this helps! :-)

This is the sort of thing that Faithlife normally fixes when brought to their attention. I'd start a new thread with a title beginning with DOCUMENTATION BUG and see what the result is. You can then either refer them to this thread or restate the problem.
