Blank Resources

I've had this happen a few times, with different resources in different panes. I'll open a layout, or a single resource, or do a search. At some point I'll want to open a new resource and when it open, the panel it opens to has the frame and the book title, but the area the text should be is a beautiful shade of gray. Other resources in the same panel do the same, but if I close the resource I just opened, things go back to normal.

Has anyone else experienced this yet?
