Internet Speed with Logos open

Is this just me? Or are you (proverbial user... possibly a beta issue) experiencing this as well?

When Logos is open on my desktop, it seems to be using up lots of internet resources. My internet speed is cut by almost ½ (I am estimating this by a simple browser 'internet speed test' with Logos open and Logos closed). And, when Logos is 'indexing' the speed is reduced even more significantly.

My web browser crawls around when Logos is open, video streaming is sluggish, downloading outside of Logos takes twice as long.

When I close Logos, it is like a strangle-hold is released.

Is this just something I am experiencing? If not, what is going on while Logos is open that requires so much bandwidth? This program has a significant portion of SSD committed to its storage, it is indexed on the hard-drive... what am I experiencing?

    Ross,

Did this happen today or yesterday? Were there any resources downloading? What panels do you have open? If you could reproduce this and post your logs.

I just ran Speedtest, before starting Verbum then after Verbum up and running (non-beta, 7.6 SR-1).  I did not notice any material difference.  +/- .5 Mbps.

Initially suspect resource contention. Curious about operating system and some hardware information: CPU, amount of RAM, and storage device capacity plus % free.

Windows Task Manager and mac OS Activity Manager can provide useful insights about resource contention. If amount of RAM is too small, then an operating system uses disk to extend RAM, which slows down program performance: e.g. web browser crawls.

When Logos is indexing, CPU and Storage are being used a lot, which can adversely affect performance of other program(s). Launching Logos includes collection cache refresh.
