I have a big library. A "Basic" search produced 15,000 hits which is essentially useless. While I know that this is a difficult problem but maybe one day the engine would be better at categorizing relevance maybe like Google.
Can you give a specific example?

Do you have your library divided into various collections, i.e., a collection of commentaries, a collection of grammars, a collection of dictionaries, etc.? If you do then you can narrow your search to that particular collection. "Books" (resources) can be in multiple collections if necessary.
