is it Chinese spam, or legitimate posts?

Spam selling bogus degrees.... others I can't get into to grab the text to try translating which of course isn't great but gives you a good enough idea to know what is what.

If someone with a gibberish user name posts 40 times in a few minutes using a foreign language in a forum where English is the normal language, you can probably assume it is spam without trying to translate it.

It's another nefarious plot by a foreign nation to influence the U.S., only this time it's bible software. But we don't know what it is they're specifically trying to do nor how they would accomplish it.

It's kind of annoying to see so many spams at the same time. It would be good to limit new users to 5 new threads per hour or day, and the rest not to post until they are reviewed by the team.  Something like that would be very helpful.

Mark that may be a bit unfair since in suggestions with a recently released Chinese package I can imagine an eager user making suggestions for numerous books he considers needed. That said spam is almost always going to be the problem.

Read all I said Dan. Gibberish user name. Many posts in just a few minutes. Plus language usually not used in that forum. Not the typical suggestion post is it?

You are free to read all of these you want.

I know you did say gibberish name, but what looks like gibberish to us might be a rending of their name is transliteration of a certain name. Gaoyuchanchaori appears utter gibberish to me but it is a rendering into roman alphabet of a Chinese word. I saw one post with an appearing gibberish name that was very real. Even when we have english speakers sometimes we could end up with things that appear gibberish WWJD1988, we know what that represents but it appears gibberish to some, I have one friend who if cameos here would almost certainly us TGRJHG which are the initials to his legal name as he added in his baptismal name and mothers maiden name, again it appears gibberish but it is merely an unknown acronym that means a lot to him.  And I know the language used there is mostly English, but I have seen German  posted there and even French (although French was a long time back). I do not like spam attacks and want them to stop, the posts are altered enough to be not identical. Why they even are spamming here makes no sense to me, because while I am sure we have some who read Chinese it would feel a minimal market for its target audience. The only reason I read an them via translation is to report abuse. I read only one by each user name and did assume all posts by the two user names were spam.

Dan, remember what I said, gibberish (the term you might use is "unrecognizable as an English word"), not normal language, and many posts within a few minutes. Together those add up to a high suspicion of spam to me. Perhaps not to you. So you will use an interpreter. I will just skip them.
