Currently, when changing Bible translation in a Bible search, it takes between 20sec to over half a minute to simply see the drop down list of translations (this type of delay is common to many drop down lists).
Instead of waiting to see the complete list of Bibles, collections, targums and fragments, could only the list of Top Bibles be displayed, or a setting to choose what to display immediately, such as a collection like Favourite Bibles? Other Bibles or fragments etc could be selected by clicking on a link(s) to expand them before choosing them. In other words, the delay is only experienced when maximum choice is needed.
Alternatively, load the list(s) into memory at startup to facilitate instant access when needed, as the delay does not decrease each time, as the list(s) is not remembered.
[At present, I can start another free software program, select my translation, do the search and get results while I'm still waiting for L4 to show me a list of translations available to choose for the search (hardware isn't the issue here as both are running on the same hardware which apart from being XP instead of Vista meets the min spec for L4).]
Small improvements like this would greatly help.
(Note: I'm trying to be positive here as I struggle with my "patience program" (L4), as these delays can not only wear
you down over time, but interrupt the momentum of work.)
