I'm still confused as to why there are two hits in a syntax search in the ESV for each search operat

Hi...I was searching names in the ESV syntax search and I just can't understand why there are multiple hits for each verse....

Can someone refresh my memory?

Next; is there a way to not have this happen? It's a pain to sort through twice as many hits as is really there....

This looks like to me that it is registering the Lemma hit and the morphology as a hit. For proper names you probably wouldn't need to @XP, just the lemma:***

Also, I notice that Joseph has two sets of morphology tags in most places, I'll pull up the NA27 for less clutter

I don't know if this directly contributes to these duplicates but it might. Just so you know the first morph tagging represents the function of the word, the second its form.

Actually, just do a search for ([field bible] Ἰωσήφ) and you also get double quadruple hits in the analysis view.

You get 4 hits in Acts 7:13 because there are two uses of the word! The rest of the verses have only 2 hits per verse. Looking at this again I retract my double-hit speculation above and guess that this must have to do with the way that the Analysis grabs all data possible

Ιωσηφ comes in twice because it is associated with two different sets of morph

Analysis has no way of knowing which morphology you want so it procures both.
