Personal Books - Journal Syntax

I'd like to import a journal article I've got in a docx file. However, I'd like the generated personal book to be treated as a journal article rather than a "book", i.e. when I copy and paste some text out of the imported resource I'd like it to include metadata such as the Journal name, the Volume, the Issue, etc.

For example, here's the autogenerated footnote I see when I copy and paste some text out of the latest issue of Themelios:

Dane Ortlund, “Reflections on Handling the Old Testament as Jesus Would Have Us: Psalm 15 as a Case Study,” Themelios 42, no. 1 (2017): 80.

In the above example the journal name is Themelios, the Volume is 42, the Issue is 1, it was published in 2017, the article's author is Dane Ortlund, etc.

What's the relevant syntax/markup for a Personal Book that contains a journal article?

Thanks David, but I was just using Themelios as an example. The journal article I have in mind isn't Themelios.

How close is the footnote if you enter the author and copyright information in the appropriate fields and select "Journal" in the type: field?

This is the goal (Journal: Biblica, Volume: 91, Issue: 2):

Mark Leuchter, “'Why Tarry The Wheels of his Chariot?' (Judg 5,28): Canaanite Chariots and Echoes of Egypt in the Song of Deborah,” Biblica 91, no. 2 (2010), 256-268.

This is what I'm getting now:

It would help if you uploaded a screenshot of the Library information in the PB tool. But if the book is a journal article, then its title should include the article data "Biblica 91, no. 2".

Yeah, the book is a journal article.

I wish it were as easy as placing the volume info (etc) into the title however different citation styles mean that that isn’t an option. For example, here are 4 different citation styles all for the same paragraph of text:

SBL Handbook of style (1st ed):

Dane Ortlund, “Reflections on Handling the Old Testament as Jesus Would Have Us: Psalm 15 as a Case Study,” Themelios 42, no. 1 (2017): 80.

APA 6:

Ortlund, D. (2017). Reflections on Handling the Old Testament as Jesus Would Have Us: Psalm 15 as a Case Study. Themelios, 42(1), 80.

Harvard:

Ortlund, D., 2017. Reflections on Handling the Old Testament as Jesus Would Have Us: Psalm 15 as a Case Study. Themelios, 42(1), p.80.

MLA:

Ortlund, Dane. “Reflections on Handling the Old Testament as Jesus Would Have Us: Psalm 15 as a Case Study.” Themelios 42.1 (2017): 80. Print.

If Faithlife/Logos can tag documents as journals then the same facility must be available to us through the personal books function…

I don't know what you expect as it appears that the journal article does appear in the citations. What was the title of the PB? A screen shot would have helped.

Again, a screen shot of its Library Information would have helped. Did you use "Journal" for the Type? Even then, a PB doesn't have a tag (in the document) for article citations.

I think you have done as much as possible to get an appropriate article citation.
