In L3 I used to hit search and it would automatically default to the book I was then reading to be searched. Now I have to choose the book every time. Can anyone tell me if L4 can default to the open book?

No, it can't, not in the Search panel anyway. But that would be a great suggestion to add to the Suggestions forum.

You can, however, do a Find (Ctrl+F) within the current open book. It will find each occurrence one by one, not all at once like the Search panel does. And it can't do complex searching (boolean operators like AND/OR, etc.) the way the Search panel does. But it might be sufficient for your needs at the moment.

You can also right click to get the "Search this resource" command. If you do the right click on the word you want to search, it immediately does the search. If not, notice that the search box has the focus and the search term is highlighted--so you just have to start typing in the search term you do want. Saves you a few clicks.
