Tools" Bible People, Places, and Things

When I clicked on “Tools” >Biblical People, Places, or Things” they open for maybe a second and then disappear. I figured out that they are opened but are behind the “Home Page” and I needed to minimize the home page to see them or do an Alt + Tab to get to them.

Another issue; When I minimize the home page and then maximize it I can no longer see the Minimize, Maximize, or Close icons in the upper right hand corner.

the biblical people places and things open in a floating window....and the homepage thing you describe is by design...that's normal.

I'm not sure what you mean by "the minimize buttons disappear" though...can you provide a screen shot?

Are you by any chance double-clicking on Biblical People/Places/Things on the Tools menu? That would explain why they would disappear. The first click brings the floating window up but then the second click is interpreted as you clicking on the main Logos window, which is behind the BP/P/T floating window, so it brings the main Logos window to the foreground and pushes the BP/P/T behind. If you just click once on the menu, the floating wnidow should stay on top.

You can also open them in a tab if you prefer that to a floating window: Click Tools, Right-click Biblical People/Places/Things, select "Open in a new tab." This will not disappear behind the main Logos window like a floating window can.

You can't minimize just the Home Page (well, you can make it disappear by clicking the House icon in the upper left; and clicking the House icon again will bring it back). The Home page sits within the larger frame of the Logos application window. You're minimizing the entire Logos application window, right? I cannot see the behavior you're describing of the Minimize, Maximize and Close icons being invisible after maximizing Logos. What did you do to maximize it? Do you see a black bar across where those icons should be? If not, what do you see there -- or is that part of the Logos Window off the screen somehow? Some people have had the black bar problem in 64-bit Windows 7 under certain circumstances.
