just getting started and need help

I've got the Scholars edition all installed, content downloaded, and indexed and starting to look at videos and such. my initial difficulty is that content on my screen is not the same in the videos so i cannot follow along.

An example is when I type in a passage in the command bar and click go. When i click on the exegetical guide tab I don't see the "word by word" section referred to in the videos. I only have a section called "grammars" and "collections/all resources" When I expand the collections section there are a few items listed there, with a "more" selection that lists other content but I'm not seeing anything relating to interlinear/lexicons, etc.

A second thing here is that the fonts on some of the text looks washed out and is not crisp. a good example is when I'm in the choose preferred bible section and I'm listing the bibles and hovering the mouse over the list and a popup opens describing the bible version. Text there is washed out.

I can see that there is alot going on under the hood with this program.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

For your first question (i don't use Passage Guide much, so i can't help there)

But in general, you might want to checkout the wiki (see Table of Contents, its layed out similar to reading from left to right on the top menu bar). Just click on any of the links (please notice once that you go to a link, at the top of each page is a link back to the Table of Contents). It can assist you in learning how to use many of the features in Logos4.

For your second question, there is another wiki page setup to help you adjust your display (see Adjusting your Monitor)

First, make sure you're looking at the Exegetical Guide (not the Passage Guide).

Second, if you created a guide called "My Exegetical Guide" it will replace the standard Exegetical Guide. Try opening the Exegetical Guide from the "Guides" menu and see if the Word by Word tab returns.

greetings all;

Well, the problem seems to have resolved itself. I ended up closing the program, then reopening. I noted that the Logos splash screen stayed on the screen longer than it had previously. So long that I thought the program may have crashed. I let it remain as is, and after 20-30 seconds it opened up and appeared fine. I plugged Luke 20 into the command bar and clicked go. I selected the exegetical tab as I had done before, and there was the word by word section I had been looking for.

Even though the program had been installed, content downloaded and indexed, and a full 24 hours had passed, it seems the act of restarting the software loaded this content into the GUI. Weird, but being a computer guy this doesn't seem too far off base.

Oh well, now to learn to organize my content in a meaningful manner.
