Can we have a total valuation button please?

There have been many occasions when I have wished that there was a simple button within Logos that could add up all the resources/products/purchases associated with my particular installation of Libronix and tell me what the current total valuation of my software would be at that point is in USD or equivalent, regardless of whether they were purchased via Logos, Nelson or other independents. We already have an account summary so surely it wouldn't be too difficult.

I know that this would just be a 'snapshot' valuation on any given day, but it would be a great help to know for replacement and insurance purposes. Consideration of this would be much appreciated. [:)]

Sounds fun but totally unnecessary. The beauty of backing up and synchronizing with the Logos servers is the protection it affords you from loss. It will be one of the easiest things to restore in case of fire/flood/theft.

It would be virtually impossible to set an accurate value on so many different resources as prices will fluctuate. If you buy a special bundle at discount and I get the same titles one-by-one, our costs would not be the same for insurance purposes.

When I want to obsess over my library I just click "bibliography" and smile. [Y] [H] Only a GUI with little books on the shelf could improve on that.

Yes! A slick interface as you suggest would be really great - but I still think that a valuation button would have some merit, even if it were just a guide.

And yet I can see one possible application, but I've already done it.

When I first started Ministry, my tax adviser told me to tally up the present day replacement cost of my library using a common source. I used the upstart Amazon [;)]. Once I was done building the spreadsheet and I hit total I fell out of my chair (Figuratively). Since then I have no doubt that I've doubled my library physically and at least matched it digitally. I can't imagine what my tax lady would do today if I were to bring in that total. [:O]

Careful TC! There are certain professionals (like the disciple Matthew) who would conclude if you possess that great of a value in library holdings you must be hiding sources of income. [6]. I used seperate banks to move accounts receivable (hundreds of payments incoming monthly) to the general fund and then expense account. The IRS thought I had triple the cash flow...... silly them.
