Spacing after punctuation

When I post a paragraph I have written, the spacing between puncuation (primarly 'periods') does not format correctly.  Notice in this example:

Okay all you struggling theologians, here is something to help you with chapter four.In our book, the author has a beautiful summary of the chapter.He writes (with my comments in italics):

    Formatting error occurs after punctuation.  I appears if I add three spaces after a period or a question mark, etc., the formatting puts the space between sentences.  If I only add one or two spaces, it combines the sentences (as in the screen shot):
