A16a Bug: Search suggestions limited to last word

I was wanting to search for a phrase this morning, so I went to search and typed in my phrase.  The search window helpfully supplied some suggestions, but these suggestions seem to ignore all but the last word in my phrase, like so:

Maybe this is a feature, but it looks like a bug.  BTW, this did not prevent the search itself from working.  When I ignore the suggestions and simply hit ENTER, I got what I wanted:

We only do term completion, not phrase completion. This is true on both Windows and Mac.

Ah.  Sounds like an opportunity for improvement.  :-)

Fair enough, but the term completion does not seem to work as one would expect when searching for more than one word. If, for example, I was looking for 'Hezekiah' and 'pray' I would expect to select 'pray' from the suggestion list ...

... without the entire search being restricted to 'pray':

Surely the earlier search terms should be preserved unless they are selected?

Perhaps the suggestion list should read:

    Hezekiah AND pray

    Hezekiah AND prayer

    Hezekiah AND prayeth

    Hezekiah AND prayest

    Hezekiah AND PRAYZ

    Hezekiah AND prayerless

    I hope this makes sense!

Yes. I've fallen foul of this feature in the past myself. It all but renders auto-completion useless except for single words. In fact worse than useless as it creates clutter around the typing area and creates uncertainty about what is really being searched. If there is no intention of improving the auto-completion feature, could we at least be able to turn it off?

What you're describing (as opposed to what was described in the original post) is most definitely a bug. And, as such, I'll create a case for it.
